Pollachi rape case

The Pollachi rape case has shocked everyone to the core. DMK+ is conducting a big protest because a few ADMK persons are involved in this. Don't think DMK+ is supportive of women and they work for their empowerment. Few months back a son of a DMK women wing leader invited his facebook girl friend to meet him. Only after she met him did she come to know that he had come with his friends and they wanted to enjoy her body together. So all protest dramas by DMK are all election stunts.

Anyone who has been following TN politics for some time know well that the politicians has split TN population into three groups 1) brahmins 2) bc and mbs castes 3) sc and st castes. The dravidian parties would want you to believe that there are only two classification 1) brahmins 2) non brahmins. That's wrong. There is a distinct 3rd category with no overlaps with the 2nd exists.

There is a history that we all must know. The dravidian parties are parties of the middle category (bc/mbc).

Who are they anyway?
Gounders, Devars, Vanniers, Mudaliars, etc.

Were they really backward?
No. Not economically. They are prosperous farm owning feudal castes. They never had any love for social equality or gender equality. They are the castes who kill dalits for loving or marrying girls from their castes. They don't think dalits are equal to them. Plus they don't believe in independence of women. They consider them as their properties. What else can explain the caste (aka. honour) killings?

What is the reason for their brahmin hatred?
These castes didn't like the domination of brahmins who were poors before british colonial times but prospered in colonial times because of government jobs from british. Brahmins started flourishing. They questioned their status quo. These caste people didn't like it. Please read about justice party to know the history. The whole basis of their party is : how can a population minority brahmins hold so many government posts and control the rest of the majority?

It's all ok for dravidian parties to be angry about small minority holding big posts (social injustice and inequality), it's ok to hate brahmins, it's ok to improve in education, it's ok to introduce reservations, it's ok to get government jobs. What is not ok is not admitting that they're casteist, not admitting that they're anti dalit, not admitting that they place candidates from the dominant caste of that area to win elections (Kanimozhi is likely to contest from Nadar dominant Kanyakumari because of her Nadar roots through her mother). It's possible to give this example from other dravidian parties as well.

With all things said, we just have to connect the dots. With feudal, casteist MLAs/MPs, all atrocities of criminals of that community will be tolerated and downplayed. Kongu belt is dominated by gounders and it's very difficult for a non gounder to become a MLA/MP. As a relative of a MLA/MP you can get away with any crime. While the gounder community is brave, hard working and entrepreneurial, the community also has some hard core casteists supporting ADMK or DMK. It's not just a vote support. It's a co-caste-feeling support (ivan namma saadhi da).

I am ok with those brahmins hating dravidian party men and supporters blaming brahmins for introducing caste system in Tamil society irrespective of whether it's true or not, as long as you come out of it and be a responsible citizen. Them simply doing all the crimes and finally blaming brahmins for creating caste system is definitely not helping. It won't take them anywhere. First step of solving an issue is accepting the issue/mistake. Bash brahmins all you want but for God's sake (oh sorry, for Periyar's sake) come out of caste system. See all people as your equals. Don't kill dalits. Don't call dalits as sakkili. Don't give tea to drainage worker in a drinking glass different from yours (I, a brahmin, don't do it, but you still do.). This is an age of information. When you simply keep blaming brahmins for all your caste atrocities, people can sense it. You also can't keep saying annihilation of caste is not that easy forever.
